Memorandum of Understanding Sets Stage for Next-Gen Bi-Directional AV
In a strategic move towards revolutionizing autonomous vehicle technology, EV manufacturing tech company Helixx and driverless vehicle tech company Conigital have officially entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The collaboration aims to co-develop an advanced bi-directional AV using Helixx’s universal vehicle platform and manufacturing architecture.
Simplified Architecture and Low-Cost Manufacturing to Accelerate AV Development
The partnership leverages Helixx’s universal vehicle platform and manufacturing architecture to simplify the complexities of AV development. By incorporating software-led design engineering and Helixx’s cost-effective manufacturing strategies, the collaboration aims to facilitate swift testing and global implementation of the next-generation AV.
Co-development of AV Software and Hardware Underway
Conigital and Helixx are currently in the process of co-developing a comprehensive suite of AV software and hardware. This initiative, designed to streamline AV development on a global scale, embraces manufacturing and technology-centric principles. The anticipated outcome is a future-proofed vehicle manufacturing system, featuring an ‘AV menu item’ or an ‘off-the-shelf AV.’ Helixx’s exclusive ‘factory in a box’ concept is expected to significantly lower entry barriers for electric autonomous vehicles.
Aiming for an Autonomous-Agnostic Framework
The resulting platform from this collaboration is poised to serve as an autonomous agnostic framework, adaptable for various AV use cases. Steve Pegg, co-founder and CEO of Helixx, expressed the significance of this fusion, stating, “The fusion of Conigital’s driverless technology suite with Helixx’s universal EV manufacturing architecture is a key development in delivering a future where sustainable urban mobility is the norm.”
CEOs Emphasize the Significance of Collaboration
Conigital CEO Don Dhaliwal emphasized the collaboration’s impact, stating, “Our collaboration with Helixx is a significant step toward reshaping driverless transportation technology to make it viable for future mass adoption.” The CEOs envision a future where advanced driver assistance systems and full driverless mobility solutions become integral components of urban transportation.
