On National Energy Conservation Day, President Droupadi Murmu presented the EV-Yatra Portal smartphone application in Delhi. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has created a new smartphone app that allows users of electric vehicles to navigate in-vehicle to the closest public charger. The nation commemorates Energy Conservation Day 2022 on December 14 each year to recognize its successes in energy efficiency and conservation.
Charge point operators (CPOs) can register on the platform and enter information into the National Online Database via the EV-Yatra app. This will essentially make it easier for drivers of electric vehicles to locate public EV charging outlets in their area. The app will be able to provide information on the types of chargers installed at the station, the availability of charging slots, the cost to charge an electric vehicle, service, and other features.
The EV-Yatra app allows users to pre-book a charging station. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple Store and works with the majority of handsets. The app is presently only available in Hindi and English.
